Mr. Orndorff has been with the Flagler County School District for 5 years beginning his career at Matanzas High School in the position of Dean and Head Coach of Boy’s Basketball for 1 year and then Assistant Principal for 4 years. Vernon graduated from Emporia State University in Kansas with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and from Wichita State University with a Masters in Education. He was born and raised in El Dorado, KS and is married with 5 children: 1 married and living in TN, 1 attending Emporia State University pursuing a bachelor's degree in Education, twin boys age 7 attending BTES and a daughter who is 5 years old. In his free time Vernon enjoys running and fly-fishing.
Vernon is very excited to take on the position of Principal at Indian Trails Middle School and said: ‘As the Instructional Leader at Indian Trails Middle School it will allow me to work hand in hand with the Mustang faculty, staff and community to make a positive impact in so many lives. My family is very fortunate and we are blessed to be a part of Flagler County and the Flagler County School System’.
Vernon Orndorff quotes goals for his new school: ‘Indian Trails Middle School will move progressively into the 21st century where all shareholders are collectively responsible for establishing, maintaining and seizing the opportunity, on a daily basis, to provide a positive learning environment where the joy of collaboration of living and learning ensures our students are critical thinkers and will effectively cooperate, collaborate and compete in a global society’.
